This is Why I Want to Make Art!
SUMMERTIME…and the living is easy...
Every breath I breathe is connected with the ebb and flow of energy around me. The sky is a cerulean blue, the sun radiating, while fingers of brilliant green push through the dirt and tiny flowers of pink, purple, red, orange, and yellow show their faces. The trees, grass, clouds, flowers, animals, insects: all undulating, creating with me. Never ceasing to amaze me, the warmth of the sun and the cool of the moon keep me in motion.
All of this, God has given to keep me thinking, gazing, releasing, absorbing, singing, growing... THIS IS WHY I WANT TO MAKE ART!

Stella Bella
Hi and thanks so much for inviting me to part of something so spectacular. My name is Stella M. Perkins and I am from the St. Louis Metropolitan area.
Making art is a way for me to accept what I look like and to remember the power I hold within me. By working with my hands, i.e. carving wood blocks, making collages, or painting, I can physically express tension, aggravation and complacency that I experience every day. My paintings and prints involve the nude figure, most often the female as the subject. My paintings are realistic, detailed, and explorative of color. With color I can reveal emotions such as disgust, contempt, love, and creativity.
Many of my influences include Gustav Klimt, Alphonse Mucha, Beardsley, Van Gogh, Cezanne, Marcel Duchamp, Picasso, Henri Matisse, Judy Chicago, Jeff Koons, Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Rauschenberg, Mary Cassatt, Käthe Kollwitz, Andy Warhol, Frida Kahlo, and many others.
My favorite movements in no particular order are: Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Surrealist, Bauhaus, Cubism, Dada (of course!), Fauvism, Figurative, Feminism, mad love for Graffitti!, Pop Art, Romanticism, Samikshavad, Symbolism, Underground Comix, as well as African, Asian, Native American, and Primitive Art.
Once again, thanks so much for the invite. I have so much more to share!

Introducing Me
Thank you for inviting me to post on this unique blog. My name is Glenda Bailey, I am a self-taught mixed media artist. I started really getting serious about my art when my children went to college. Empty nest syndrome. I did purchase a rubber stamp store and started getting involved. It was such fun for a people-person like me. When my daughter graduated and got married, she joined in. We call ourselves TwoCoolTexans. We sell our work on Etsy http://www.twocooltexans.etsy.com/ and we do have a website where you can see some of our other work. http://www.twocooltexans.net/
Here are a few of the things that we have sold lately. You can also see us in the current, just out issues of Somerset Gallery and Sew Somerset. Visit us at our blogs http://www.redhead7.blogspot.com/ and http://www.alishafredrickson.blogspot.com/

NINE KOI ABSTRACT by M BALDWIN
This original is created by a glaze and drip technique,
very unstructured and freeing. I love the transparency of the oils as
the glazes run and drip to create the emerging subjects. This one
just jumped at me as I began to see nine koi fish happily
enjoying their swim. Details were added for final touch.
ENJOY the KOI
Thanks for viewing ~ Marcia
